DAY 1 : Nairobi-Maasai Mara
Leave Nairobi for a drive south to stop at the viewpoint of the Great Rift
Valley. After the breathtaking view, proceed to Narok town for lunch then to
Masaai Mara arriving for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and night at the
campsite
The Mara reserve is 1510 sq km of incredible wide-open
landscapes and fertile riverine woodland and one glimpse is enough to explain
its appeal; it is typical savannah, with a mass of amazing wildlife. Wherever
you go in the Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai
giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis,
impala, hartebeests, wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos also
exist in great numbers. It is also common to see lions either basking after a
heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards
are harder to spot but are still reasonably common
DAY 2 : Maasai Mara
After breakfast, spend a full day enjoying the best that nature can provide in
this game reserve taking your picnic lunch at the hippo pools. Return to the
campsite for dinner and night.
The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to
believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily
see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo,
warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes
and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the
natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of
wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and
pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion,
cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.
DAY 3 : Maasai Mara
Morning game-drive in the game reserve with the optional nature walk or a visit
to the Masaai village at a small fee in the afternoon, meals and night at the
campsite
DAY 4 : Maasai Mara- Lake Naivasha
After breakfast and morning game drive, head to Naivasha with lunch enroute and
a visit to the Hell’s Gate Park[one of the few parks where you can walk or cycle
to see the wild animals]. There is a Geothermal power station and very beautiful
scenery,dinner and overnight at the campsite or budget hotel.Optional: Boat ride
in Lake Naivasha - A fresh water lake at an extra cost*
DAY 5 : Lake Naivasha - Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, drive to Nakuru for game viewing and a sight of millions of
flamongoes among other birds[about 350 species recorded].This is also home to
the black and the white rhinoceros. Dinner and night in a budget hotel.
The park covers 180 sq km and is home to warthogs, waterbuck, buffaloes,
reedbucks, and the occasional leopard. White and black rhinos were introduced to
the park some years ago and you will find white rhino at the southern end. The
park has also retained its reputation as an ornithologists’ delight with more
than 400 species of bird found here.
DAY 6 : Lake Nakuru - Lake Bogoria-
Lake Baringo
After breakfast, drive to L. Bogoria to see the hot springs and geysers plus the
many birds. After lunch head to L. Baringo for boat ride to see birds and
ancient caves. Dinner and night at a hotel/ camp site
Lake Baringo is the most Northerly of Kenya’s small Rift Valley lakes; creased
with papyrus and well developed acacia forest. Hippos, crocodiles and monitor
lizards are effortlessly seen from the shore, as is a magnificent display of
water birds. This is Kenya's bird watching centre with over 1200 different
species native to the country and more than 450 sighted here. A bird watcher's
haven but beware, this is malaria land so it is best to come prepared with
plenty of mosquito repellent.
DAY 7 : Lake Baringo-Samburu
Depart for Samburu in the morning after breakfast via Thomson’s Falls. Lunch is
en route arriving in time for afternoon game drive to see a world of difference.

Samburu is part of a lava plain that includes a diverse landscape of thorn
scrub, red dirt, dried river beds, broken volcanic rock, steep hills, and rocky
outcroppings. This reserve is becoming one of Kenya's most admired stops after
the Mara. Sights of the peculiarly branched doum palms and thorn trees give an
unusual look to the region.
DAY 8 : Samburu
Morning and Afternoon game-drive in Samburu with the chance to see the rare
species of animals and plants. Meals and night at the campsite
The light and vast openness creates a lonesome panoramic beauty and the
permanent water supply acts like a lure for the abundant species found here. The
region is home to the uncommon Grevy’s zebra with huge fury ears, gerenuk
antelope standing on hind legs to feed, Somali ostriches with distinct blue legs
and the shy Oryx. Elephant and crocodile are guaranteed sightings, excellent
bird watching with numerous varieties of weaverbirds and the martial eagle.
Leopard sighting is also a special feature here.
DAY 9 : Samburu- Mount Kenya
After breakfast, leave Samburu for Nanyuki the base hotel for mt.kenya arriving
for lunch before visiting the Mau Mau Caves. Dinner and night at a budget hotel.
DAY 10 : Mount Kenya - Amboseli
After breakfast, drive past the biggest open-air market in East and Central
Africa [Karatina]. Proceed to Nairobi for lunch and continue to Amboseli for
evening game drive, dinner and overnight at the campsite
Mount Kenya was shaped by volcanic action linked with the creation of the Rift
Valley and is thought to be older than Mount Kilimanjaro; geologists believe it
previously stretched at least 1500m above its present height of 5199m
(17,057ft). The Kikuyu people settled in the central highlands some 300 years
ago called the mountain “Ngai” (God) who they believed lived on the top of Mount
Kenya.
DAY 11 : Amboseli
Full day in Amboseli with the option of nature walk, visiting masaai village or
swimming in one of the lodges. Meals and night at the campsite.
Amboseli National park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya.

The Park lies at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa
(5,896m) whose snow-capped summit presents a splendid view on clear days.
Amboseli National Park is often referred to as “The home of Elephants’ some of
the largest Elephant herds are found here. The Game Park also contains vast
groups of Zebras, Wildebeests, Giraffes, Buffalos, Hippos and Antelopes. Also to
be found in Amboseli are lions, leopards, Cheetahs, Rhinos and many species of
plain game.
DAY 12 : Amboseli-Tsavo West
After breakfast, drive via Chyulu Hills to Tsavo West National Park arriving in
good time for lunch. After lunch enjoy game and visit the famous Mzima
Springs[the source of drinking water for Mombasa]. Dinner and night at the
campsite
Tsavo West National Park which lies roughly half way between Nairobi and the
Coast. Mzima Springs, the chief marvel here is a favorite haunt of hippos and
crocodiles. Arrival at your lodge / tented camp will be in time for lunch. An
early evening game drive to see large herds of elephants, buffalo, common
waterbuck, eland, rhino and a wide variety of antelope.
Day 13: Tsavo West - Tsavo East
After breakfast, drive to Tsavo East which is popular for its large numbers of
elephants and the Man-eater lions during the construction of the Kenya-Uganda
railway-line. Lunch on arrival, game drive in the park, dinner and night at the
campsite.
The landscape in Tsavo East is flatter and drier, despite having one of Kenya’s
largest rivers flowing through the middle. Much of the wildlife is concentrated
on the Galana River, which has plentiful crocs and hippos. Likewise, Kudus,
waterbucks and dik-diks are common along the river banks
Day 14: Tsavo - Nairobi or Mombasa
After breakfast, have your last game viewing as you leave the park for either
Nairobi or Mombasa depending on your tour plan.
